The procedure takes just a few minutes and provides immediate results. Your insurance may cover a portion of this procedure.
A laser generates an intense beam of light that can selectively target a treatment site. The laser light is absorbed by oxyhemoglobin and melanin causing decomposition or destruction by heat of unwanted cells while leaving healthy cells intact. An individual treatment program will be developed for you, but most people require 3-5 treatments at one month intervals.

Please avoid sun exposure one week prior to appointment. All make up and lotions need to be removed prior to treatment.
| Procedure |

Treatments generally take 15-30 minutes. The laser is emitted through pen-like hand piece to direct a beam of laser into the lesion. Some patients report a slight stinging sensation during treatment that quickly resolves once treatment is completed.
| Recovery |
|
Your skin might be slightly pink after treatment. Some mild swelling may be experienced and will go away in 1-2 days. Ointment should be applied to the treated area during the healing process. Avoid sun exposure for one week after treatment.
