Liposuction
CONSIDERATIONS / PREPARATION / PROCEDURE / RECOVERY / RESULTS
Sometimes exercise and dieting doesn't help people lose weight in the right places. When it comes to getting the body that you want, you deserve to have all the options available to you. Liposuction removes deposits of fat cells in problem areas, giving you the body size and shape you desire. It can be done in a variety of different areas of the body including neck, arms, thighs, breasts and back. It also may be used to compliment other procedures to enhance the result.
| Consultation |
 |
The RTH Plastic Surgery cosmetic consultation is an important step in the process of considering aesthetic surgery. Dr. Hajjar and the RTH staff are committed to helping you become well informed about the actual process of preparing for a liposuction. Feel free to ask any questions and to let us know how we can help you throughout the process.
An RTH Physician will spend time with you discussing your wishes and desires. He will examine you and give you his professional opinion about how to best achieve your goals. Your RTH doctor will work with you to determine whether you are a good candidate for liposuction. Other services may be recommended in combination with this service to be sure that you have an optimum surgical result and a wonderful surgical experience.
| Considerations |
 |
Your candidacy for this procedure is determined during the consultation phase. Your RTH doctor will help you to decide whether you are a good candidate for liposuction. He will take into consideration your specific needs, your age, health and various other factors. Liposuction is elected by both men and women of all ages.

Liposuction
Liposuction removes unwanted localized fat deposits from the body resulting in a pleasing body contour. The most frequent areas treated by liposuction in men are the “love handles”, breasts, abdomen and neckline. In women they include thighs, hips, buttocks, stomach, knees, lower leg, cheeks and double chins. When you are ready for your procedure you will be brought into our state-of-the-art, certified surgical suite and comfortably put to sleep using general anesthesia. The time needed for the procedure depends on the area of the body being treated and the amount of reduction necessary.
Ultrasonic Liposuction
Ultrasonic Liposuction is an advanced technique using high-frequency sound waves to more easily remove fat cells. This technique is particularly used in the areas of the back, male breasts and the abdomen. Ultrasonic Liposuction is done using less invasive techniques and results in less scarring and quicker recovery.
| Recovery |
 |
Just as everyone is an individual, everyone recovers differently. It is recommended that you rest the day after surgery. You may gradually increase your activity as tolerated. Most patients are back to work within a few days to a week depending on the area of the body and amount of reduction.
A couple days after your surgery your RTH doctor will follow-up with you to see how you’re healing, answer any questions and if necessary prescribe medication.
| Results |
 |
While results may vary, the fat removal from liposuction is relatively permanent. After puberty our bodies do not create new fat cells. Liposuction permanently removes these cells to improve your body’s contour. It can be combined with other procedures to enhance the result in your appearance. Many patients see an increase in self-confidence and look and feel better in their clothes.
Your RTH Physician may recommend complimentary services to maximize
your desired result.
These include a breast augmentation and breast
lift.
