Breast
Lift (Mammoplasty)
CONSIDERATIONS / PREPARATION / PROCEDURE / RECOVERY / RESULTS
Due to several factors such as pregnancy, time and weight fluctuations, breasts naturally begin to lose firmness and shape. A breast lift can restore your breasts with a firm, youthful appearance. You will feel younger, more attractive and more like yourself. New minimally invasive techniques have made this operation more popular than ever before.
| Consultation |
 |
The RTH Plastic Surgery cosmetic consultation is an important step in the process of considering aesthetic surgery. Dr. Hajjar and the RTH staff are committed to helping you become well informed about the actual process of preparing for a breast lift. Breast enhancement is a very private matter feel. Feel free to ask any questions and to let us know how we can help you throughout the process.
An RTH Physician will spend time with you discussing your wishes and desires. He will examine you and give you his professional opinion about how to best achieve your goals. Often a breast lift will be combined with a breast augmentation procedure to bring natural fullness to the breast shape. Your RTH doctor will work with you to determine whether you are a good candidate for a breast lift or a combined breast lift and augmentation. Other services may be recommended in combination with this service to be sure that you have an optimum surgical result and a wonderful surgical experience.
| Considerations |
 |
Your candidacy for this procedure is determined during the consultation phase. Your doctor will help you to decide whether you are a good candidate for a breast lift. He will take into consideration your specific needs, your age, health and various other factors.
A breast lift can be performed at any age, but RTH physicians usually recommend that once breast development has stopped is a perfect time to proceed with a breast lift if it is considered necessary. If patients are interested in having children first, a breast lift can be performed after pregnancy. If patients are interested in proceeding with a breast lift prior to pregnancy or having children, the procedure can be performed without impacting breast-feeding. The breast lift surgery usually does not affect your ability to breast-feed.

with your RTH physician regarding any medication that you are taking
regularly.
The Day of Your Procedure
Please refrain from wearing makeup, contact lenses, hairpins, jewelry,
body lotion or perfume. Wear comfortable clothing. If you develop
a cold, sore throat, fever or any symptoms of illness before

| Procedure |
 |
Before your procedure your RTH physician will answer any questions that may have arose since the initial consultation and you will have an opportunity to meet any additional staff members involved. The RTH staff will do everything to make you feel as comfortable as possible and will be available to address any concerns that you may have.
A breast lift procedure takes about 2 to 3 hours. When you are ready for your procedure you will be brought into our state-of-the-art, certified surgical suite and comfortably put to sleep using general anesthesia.
| Recovery |
 |
Just as everyone is an individual, everyone recovers differently. Rest is recommended for the first few days following surgery. A post-procedural sports bra is usually worn for a couple of weeks. Most patients are back to work within the first week. A few weeks after surgery you will be able to resume normal activities.
A couple days after your surgery your RTH doctor will follow-up with you to see how you’re healing, answer any questions and if necessary prescribe medication.
| Results |
 |
While results may vary, typically patients enjoy youthful more comfortable breasts. The breasts will be in a better position relative to their figure. Many patients see a new, more pleasing shape to their breasts and feel an increase in self-confidence.
Your RTH Physician may recommend complimentary services to maximize
your desired result. These include a breast
augmentation, breast
reduction, breast
construction,
tummy
tuck and liposuction.
